Pre-forum Research Conference

(General information)

The Riga Aviation Forum’s Scientific Conference (RAF 2020) will take place on May 21, 2020 in Riga, Latvia. Organizers of the conference, in cooperation with its main sponsor airBaltic, have this year put the issue of sustainable aviation at the heart of the conference.

The goal of the Academic conference is to provide an international forum for scientists, students and professionals in academia, industry, and government to address recent research results and to present and discuss their ideas, theories, technologies, systems, tools, applications, work in progress and experiences on all theoretical and practical issues arising in aviation transport and related competencies.

RAF 2020 has opened Call for abstracts and short papers. All accepted short papers will be included in the conference proceedings. Authors are invited to submit full papers after Conference to peer-reviewed journal which will be indexed by SCOPUS; WoS; etc.

We look forward to innovative contributions in any of the following areas:

  • Aviation Transportation Systems

  • Aviation Engineering

  • Aviation Management

  • Mathematics, Statistics, Modelling in Aerospace

  • ICT in Aviation

  • UAS and Drone Technologies

  • Business and Economics Applications in Aviation

  • Mobile and Distance Education in Aviation

English is the official language of the Conference.

We will not normally allow authors to submit more than 2 papers.  Also, we will not normally allocate more than 2 speaking opportunities for presenting papers.

Abstracts will be publishing before Conference on the Aviation Forum website (www.raf2020.lv) and conference book.

Short papers must describe original and unpublished work and will be published before Conference in the Special Proceedings with ISBN. They are likely to present a smaller and more focused contribution than full papers that can benefit from the feedback that early exposure can provide. Short papers may be no longer than five pages, including figures, tables, and references. Short papers submitted to the general and special session tracks will undergo a double-blind review process.

Selected papers will be published after Conference in the Special Issue of AVIATION journal (http://aviation.vgtu.lt) published by Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (indexed in Scopus, Web of Science: Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). Papers should be a minimum of 9 pages and a maximum of 12 pages, including references, tables, graphs, images and appendices. The total number of pages to consider is the number obtained after the paper has been correctly formatted according to the appropriate template.

Only English language (British) articles are accepted. Papers not submitted in British English will automatically be rejected. Authors are responsible for the language quality in their article and are strongly recommended to have your manuscript checked by a native speaker or an English language specialist before submission, in order to ensure that the language is acceptable.

Abstracts should not exceed 200 words and short papers – not exceed 2000 words.
